Conor Oberst And The Mystic Valley Band brought a touch of rural area rock to
Leeds Festival tonight (August 22), as they performed on the
NME/Radio 1 Stage tonight (August 22).
Oberst, best known as the singer-songwriter in Bright Eyes, led his band through a set consisting near exclusively of tracks from his 2008 album
'Conor Oberst'.
Although the six-piece didnt perform any tracks from Bright Eyes' back catalogue, they did run through and through a peppy version of blues-folk monetary standard
'Corrina, Corrina', most famously covered by Bob Dylan on his 1963
'The Freewheelin'...' album.
Oberst, who was dressed, along with his band members, in a black baseball jacket, said little to the audience other than thanking them at the beginning and end of the set.
Some of the best standard songs performed included
'Sausalito',
'Cape Canaveral' and
'There's Nothing That The Road Cannot Heal'.
Conor Oberst And The Mystic Valley Band played:
'NYC Gone, Gone'
'Souled Out!!!'
'Sausalito'
'Cape Canaveral'
'Get Well Cards'
'Eagle On A Pole'
'There's Nothing That The Road Cannot Heal'
'Corrina, Corrina'
'Gotta Reason'
'Smoke Signals'
